Welcome to St Benedict’s Catholic School. We are a small school, of about 600 students boys and girls, aged 13 to 18. Our size gives us one of our great strengths which is to be a close community where each person is valued as an individual. We are an outstanding school (Ofsted 2008) and, as a high performing secondary school, have specialist status in maths and computing, and in cognition and learning. Part of our success can be measured by our examination results, which have consistently been among the best in Suffolk, and regularly place us very high in the national tables. While this makes us very proud of how well our students achieve, it is only part of the story.
We have a mission statement. It speaks of preparing young people to be “effective Christians in the modern world”
To do this, we live and work and worship together, sharing a belief in the values of the gospel. I believe that St Benedict’s is a very special school, and our greatest testament is the young people who leave us every year to take up their adult lives. I hope that, after looking at this website and visiting us, you too will wish to be part of our community.
