There will be the opportunity to talk with our expert Heads of Department and current sixth form students, and to get a glimpse into life as a sixth former at St Benedict’s. It is our intention to host this event in school, but please appreciate that if there are any changes to the organisation of the evening, we will inform you closer to the date.

We are incredibly proud of our school and community. Whilst we love sharing our school with prospective students and their families, at present in light of COVID-19 restrictions, we have assessed the specific circumstances of our school and do not feel that we can offer tours or events in school at this time. The protection of our students, staff and our community must be our priority and we have always sought to go above and beyond the requirements and do all that we can to keep us all safe.

We still feel that we have a great deal to share with families remotely and so will be offering a virtual tour, online presentations and activities from staff and students as well as offer some video conferencing with senior staff to families who would find this helpful. We hope that from these opportunities, families will get a clear sense of what it is like to be a student at St Benedict’s.  We will make this material available on our website in the coming weeks.

Following our plans and surveys, I am writing with regard to the arrangements in place for Year 10 students from 15^th June. As per our original message we are able to offer two mornings per week for our students to supplement and support the remote learning that they have been accessing. We are really looking forward to welcoming more of our students back onto site in a safe and positive manner.

Dear Year 6 student and family,

I would like to extend a huge thank you to all the parents, carers and students who have contacted the school in the past few days with kind words and thanks. It makes a huge difference to us all at the school to be reassured by these words and we thank you too for your prayers which continue to support us all.

I have watched the Prime Minister and Education Minister’s announcements this evening.

Those children of key workers have now been identified and given instructions on what they should do. All other students should not come into school, and have been set work remotely by their teachers.
