Dear Parents/Carers, I have watched the Prime Minister and Education Minister’s announcements this evening.

As announced by the Government on Thursday, the school has closed due to Coronavirus. Those children of key workers have now been identified and given instructions on what they should do. All other students should not come into school, and have been set work remotely by their teachers.

Last Saturday three of our Year 10 students braved the rather imposing, historic surroundings of Magdalene Col-lege, Cambridge, and six formidable teams from other schools to take part in the English-Speaking Union’s Key Stage 4 public speaking competition.

During the first weekend of the February half term, a group of sixth formers and teachers travelled to Paris for a cross-curricular school trip.

Over the next few weeks students in years 8 and 9 are taking part in the Astro Pi project.
