Daily Prayer Wednesday 25th March 2020

Morning!

It's still lent.. I know you weren't planning on giving this much up, but here we are; just over halfway through lent and experiencing such change that for some people any of the commitments they made make no sense any more, or have got lost in all the chaos and change. Some of us will have held on, and well done if you did!

Lent is also about praying and giving, not just fasting, so let's begin our day in prayer again knowing that this moment to anchor ourselves will help us to develop our relationship with God, but it will also help us to establish a sense of something solid when everything else is changing.

Take a moment before you read on to find a place where you won't be distracted and where you can focus on your prayer.

Make the sign of the cross: even if it's just in your mind. Make your prayer knowing you are being joined to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

What are you grateful for? Think on this and try to bring to mind 3 things and then make a real prayer letting God know you appreciate his gifts to you.

Who needs your prayers today? There are so many options and no wrong answers here so just choose two that come quickly to mind.. Offer them to God in your mind.

Because this is lent, let's pray (if you dare) that God will show you places and ways that you can give, either to the poor, or just in the home. Maybe money, or maybe another resource you have lots of. Ask God to surprise and challenge you, but be warned, you'll need to keep your eyes and mind open to his response!

If you can get some quiet, spend a few moments in the quiet.. Let any thoughts or feelings bubble or slip away..

Then, either in your mind or out loud, we'll pray for each other as we pray
Glory be to the Father
And to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning
Is now and ever shall be
World without end
Amen
