As announced by the Government on Thursday, the school has closed due to Coronavirus.
Those children of key workers have now been identified and given instructions on what they should do. All other students should not come into school, and have been set work remotely by their teachers.
After a washout the previous Friday, Mr Steward and Ms Coogan joined forces to ensure that we had perfect conditions for optical astronomy. On this occasion we were also joined by Mr Derek Langley who, with the aid of the Vinten Trust, has gifted us the superb 12" Langley Newtonian telescope.
Last Saturday three of our Year 10 students braved the rather imposing, historic surroundings of Magdalene Col-lege, Cambridge, and six formidable teams from other schools to take part in the English-Speaking Union’s Key Stage 4 public speaking competition.
On Thursday this week we attended the annual UKMT Team Maths Challenge competition at Framlingham. The event was attended by 22 teams representing their schools in a test of Maths ability and teamwork; this was a good turn out considering the current pandemic.
On Thursday 13th February, the Year 12s were off time-table to participate in a University Preparation Day organ-ised by our Head of Careers, Mr Steward and made possi-ble with the sponsorship from the Vinten Trust and the University of Suffolk.
