General Election 2019

On Monday 18th November Helen Geake, prospective parliamentary candidate for the Green Party and Daniel Laycock, her campaign manager, visited St Benedict's to talk to a group of students and staff about the forthcoming general election.

A group of between 20 - 30 students (ranging from Year 7 - 13) and staff gave up their lunchtime to attend the meeting and were pleased to have the opportunity to listen to Helen outline her priorities, and engage in a question and answer session.

The next prospective parliamentary candidate to visit the school will be Jo Churchill (MP) from the Conservative Party who will be visiting the school on Friday 22nd November.

Hopefully, the students and staff will have the opportunity to meet with all the prospective parliamentary candidates for Bury St Edmunds during the course of the election campaign.
