University Prep Day
On Thursday 13th February, the Year 12s were off time-table to participate in a University Preparation Day organ-ised by our Head of Careers, Mr Steward and made possi-ble with the sponsorship from the Vinten Trust and the University of Suffolk.
The day was intended to acclimatise students with some of the responsibilities required of them when living away from home and to better equip them with the up-and-coming tasks relating to university application. The day was divided into four workshops where the Year 12s were split into four groups.
The workshops on offer were Budgeting & Finance led by the UEA, UCAS & Personal Statement writing led by the University of Suffolk,
First Aid training led by St John Ambulance and Cooking on Budget led by Mr Taylor (himself a former professional cook).
The entire day was a resounding success and the Year 12s greatly enjoyed the wide-range of workshops on offer. A huge thanks to Mr Steward for having organised the day.
